Offering
Offering
© carol voccia 2009
I bloomed and ripened for this day
A reluctant fruit poised
Fully plumped
Juiced with sweet
My tartness gone with seasoned weather
Offering to be plucked by
One who will recognize my taste
I live among the leaves
Softly shadow dancing in the wind
Moving with the breathe spiritus
In all its goodness
Waiting
Reach for me
Inside the tree my fruit its offering
The tonic real
Your appetite perfect
Savor and consume
So I may reside within your trusting fiber
